Sunday 25 June 2017; 9.30am, Otmoor and Whitecross Green Woods, nr Oxford.

A repeat visit to Otmoor which is an RSPB reserve to the northeast of Oxford holding breeding Lapwing, Snipe, Redshank and Curlew. We hope for better weather than in 2016! We should also see Red Kite and perhaps Hobby, Turtle Dove and Grasshopper Warbler. The reserve is also noted for its butterflies and dragonflies. Meet at 9.30am in the reserve car park at SP 570126, accessed from the village of Beckley. Weather permitting we will also visit Whitecross Green Wood which is about 5 miles south of Bicester to try and find Black Hairstreak butterflies. On Boarstall to Murcott Road, 1/4 mile north of turn to Arncott; take the track opposite the white cottage, drive  through two gates to reach the car park, about 150 m, SP 602146.
