Date: 20 October 2018 09:30

Saturday 20 October 2018 at 9.30am, Morgans Hill, Nr Calne

This is a walk aimed primarily at beginners, but also more experienced members who would like to improve their knowledge of bird calls. Bird song has largely stopped by this time of year, but birds are still very vocal through a variety of calls. If you are struggling to tell chaffinches from bramblings or linnets from goldfinches, then this is the meeting for you. At this time of the year, if the weather is right, 100’s of birds stream over this site every hour on their Autumn Migration. If the weather is not conducive to overhead migration, we will check around scrub areas for calls of grounded migrants and resident birds.

Morning meeting only. Details of the meeting place for this trip is on the information sheet issued with the Autumn edition of WOS News.
