Franchises Wood near Redlynch

Outdoor Events
Date: 19 May 2019 09:30

Sunday 19 May 2019; 9.30am, Franchises Wood near Redlynch.

A visit to this new RSPB reserve on the edge of the New Forest. Whilst the Society has visited these woods in the past, with the acquisition by the RSPB, we will have the chance to visit parts of the wood which we have not had access to previously. We will have an RSPB leader who will not only be able to show us around, but also explain something of the history of the site and the ways in which it is planned to manage the site in future. We should see a wide range of woodland birds which should include Firecrest, Siskin and possibly Crossbill. Meeting will last until lunchtime or possibly early afternoon, so lunch should be brought.

Details of the meeting place for this trip are on the information sheet issued with the Winter edition of WOS News.

Leader Nick Tomalin of the RSPB
