Savernake Forest

Sunday 9 April 2023; 9.00 am, Savernake Forest.

A walk in this very attractive old forest area where at this time of year we should see a wide range of woodland species and possibly an early migrant or two. Please note the slightly earlier start time so we can catch some good bird song. It is anticipated that the meeting will last into the afternoon so lunch should be brought. Leader Trevor Pinchen.

Members will have received the mobile number of the leader and details of the meeting place in the Field Trips leaflet which went out with the Winter edition of WOS News. These details will also be given in the monthly email which is sent to those members who have signed up to receive emails at the beginning of the month in which the trip will be held.

The attention of members is drawn to the fact that WOS accepts no liability for damages or personal injury occurring during its activities. Please note that dogs should not be brought to meetings.

WOS seeks to encourage car sharing, so members may wish to liaise prior to meetings to try and reduce car usage. 

Field trips and indoor meetings are rarely cancelled based on weather forecasts of inclement conditions as they can be wrong. However, in the event of cancellation, a notice will be posted on the website under Newsflash.  Members may also check by telephoning the leader, see above.
